Never Coming Back Down

painting & words by Kelsey Haggard

This painting, “Never Coming Back Down,” was inspired by the fear of letting go.

The butterflies represent emotions, fears, memories, hurt, people, that the skeleton was holding onto.

The butterflies are flying away from the skeleton, being set free to never look back again.

While the skeleton is happy that the butterflies are free, they fear being alone, being forgotten, and what will happen after the butterflies are gone to never return.
